The Week of March 8th, 2021

This upcoming week is the last week of term 3!  As we finish out another term, please take time to review your child’s ItsLearning account to ensure that all required works are complete.  This is especially important for 6th graders because any unfinished work will be marked as “missing” when final averages are being calculated.  Feel free to message or email me ( if you have any questions.

Required assignments for the upcoming week will include what you would normally expect:

  1. Saxon work

  2. ReadWorks assignment

  3. 30 min of iReady on Mon, Wed, and Fri.

  4. 30 min of Amira on Tues. and Thurs. (4th only)

  5. Study vocabulary words daily (words assigned Monday, activity assigned Friday)

  6. Study spelling words daily (words assigned Monday, quiz Friday)

  7. Zoom lesson followup work

In addition, the students have been introduced to this year’s Charles Ellis Presents production: The Fundamental Needs of Humans!  Each upper elementary classroom will focus upon a specific fundamental need to research and create a project sharing what they learned.  These projects will be combined into a virtual Fundamental Needs of Humans chart you can explore!  Our class will be focusing upon the fundamental need of clothing.  We will be working on our research and projects over the next few weeks.  While I am sad that we cannot perform a stage production this year, I am happy we can continue this Ellis tradition in a unique virtual format!

Finally, please note that I am changing the time of my office hours from 7:30 am to noon.   This time change will allow me to greet the students who are on campus in the morning.  It will also be more convenient for those students who have late-morning lessons.  I’ve updated the students’ Itslearning calendars to reflect this change.

Happy Friday,
