The Week of May 13, 2019

We’ve made it to the last week of the school year! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. It seems like only yesterday that we were meeting together for the first time to review our classroom procedures!

This week will offer many chances for us to find closure on our year together. Your last vocabulary quiz of the year will take place Monday based on the word list you were given last week. Our lessons will include a chance for us to appreciate all the work we’ve accomplished this year. In addition, we will have an end-of-year ceremony Friday to say good-0bye to our 6th grade classmates as they move into Erdkinder. You are also invited to bring in board games from home Friday to enjoy some fellowship time in the afternoon before we officially begin our summer break.

Please hand in any missing required assignments from the 4th term by this Wednesday.

Finally, please click HERE to sign up for an end-of-the-year parent/teacher conference time.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Mr. Trent

The Week of May 6, 2019

This week is shaping up to be a great one! I have some fun lessons planned for you, and hope you take advantage of these last two weeks of school to further your research and studies.

We will be sharing your "Fundamental Needs of Humans" charts you completed last week. I'm excited for you to have a chance to share how people met their basic needs throughout history and across the world. For follow-up, you will be creating writing a poem using the fundamental needs you researched as your inspiration. These poems will be combined into an anthology that will become part of our classroom library for future students to enjoy! Your required assignments will also include your weekly and work. You will NOT have a word study list this week because we will take a final inventory quiz to show how much your spelling skills have grown this year. You will not need to study for this inventory.

The final administration of the MAP assessment will take place this Thursday and Friday. Please come to school well rested so you can do your best on this test.

Finally, please study the following vocabulary words for a quiz on Monday, May 13th. This will be your LAST vocabulary quiz of the year!

Have a nice weekend,
Mr. Trent
