The Week of January 21, 2019

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?"
Martin Luther King, Jr.

It's finally here:  musical week!  This year's Charles Ellis Presents musical is coming together nicely and promises to be a great one!  "The Timeline of Life" musical will take place this Thursday at 6:30 pm in the Ellis muti-purpose room.  Please tell everyone who is coming to bring either a blanket or lawn chair to sit upon!  Tickets are on sale now for $5 in the media center.  They can also be purchased the night of the show at the door.

We will spend our week preparing for the show.  Because of this, I will not be assigning any required assignments.  This includes vocabulary and word study lists.  In addition, you will NOT have explorations Tuesday.  I’ve shared with you a collection of books about the timeline of life in your account.  Feel free to check them out if you get a bit of time to do so. We will return to our regularly assigned works following the show next week.

This Friday is an exciting day for two reasons:

1.  It is a dress-down day for $1.00 to benefit the Red Cross "Dollars for Disasters" program.
2.  You've earned some "board game" time for your hard work raising money for the PTA Boosterthon Fun Run!  We've reached our classroom goal of at least 50 pledges, so feel free to bring in some boardgames Friday to enjoy with your classmates!

As they say in show business, "break a leg!"
