Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education has now taken official action on weather makeup days for the school closures the district experienced earlier this month due to Hurricane Irma. The calendar was reviewed for the best available options to ensure the most immediate recovery of lost instruction. Initially six makeup days had been proposed; however, after further consideration, an alternate recommendation was made to include three make-up days.
The approved weather make-up dates include:
Monday, October 9, 2017 (originally a Staff Work Day)
Monday, November 20, 2017 (Pre-designated make-up day)
Tuesday, November 21, 2017 (Pre-designated make-up day)
For each make-up day, all schools will operate on their regular schedules and students should report at their designated bell time. Board action was taken during a Special Called Meeting of the School Board on Monday, September 25, 2017.
