The Week of September 4th, 2018

It's here: the first week of September!  I'm looking forward to what joy and learning opportunities this month will bring in our classroom!

Social studies lessons will include continued country studies of Germany, the United Kingdom, and Russia.  In addition, I'm excited to share with you a larger-than-life timeline that will aid our studies in both the Revolutionary War and World War I.  Please be sure to complete your follow-up assignments in a timely manner.  Our language lessons will include types of clauses, object complements, and verb tense conjugation.  Your novel study groups will meet again this week to continue to read and discuss the stories.  This week we will focus on characterization.

Tuesday you will have a vocabulary quiz based upon the word list you received last Monday.  Click HERE to see the list.

You will have a review word study quiz based upon words you've already had so far this year.  Because the words are not from one specific spelling feature list, you will NOT have to sort them into groups for the quiz.

6th Graders:  This Friday marks the mid-point of the first term.  You will be issued a special progress report on Friday that shows all of your assignments, the grades you've received on those assignments, and your overall averages for each of the four subjects at this point in the term.  Please sign and return these progress reports to your homeroom teacher the following Monday.

I'll see you Monday,
Mr. Trent
