The Week of December 4, 2017

"I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December
A magical thing
And sweet to remember.
'We are nearer to Spring
Than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing
In the dark of December."

-   Oliver Herford, I Heard a Bird Sing

The first full week of December is shaping up to be a great one!  Lessons will include Australia, algebraic equations, fraction computation, Westward Expansion, and electricity (just to name a few).  At Wednesday's writing workshop, we will continue working on our rough draft we started last week.  I'm also looking forward to Thursday's novel study groups where we will get a chance to discuss what's happening in your books!  You will have a word study test Friday based on the words I will give you Monday.  In addition to your follow-up work, please remember to complete your weekly www.tenmarks.com assignment and current event journal response.

Don't forget to return your permission slip and payment ($8) for our field trip to the Savannah Children's Theatre on December 15th.  Slips and money are due Wednesday, December 13.  Also, please return the permission slip by this Wednesday if you'd like to be included in the holiday book exchange! Finally, progress reports are due back to me signed Monday morning.

Enjoy your weekend,

Mr. Trent
