Some students explored the trinomial cube today. The cube is first introduced as a sensorial material in the primary classroom. What seems like a basic wooden-block puzzle is actually used again in the upper elementary classroom to discover the formula for cubing trinomials (three digit numbers). Each block represents a different step in the process:
(A + B + C)3 = A3 + 3A2B + 3AB2 + 3A2C + B3 + 6ABC + 3B2C +3AC2 + 3 BC2 + C3
