Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 5th, 6th and 7th, 2016, due to the threat of potentially dangerous conditions associated with Hurricane Matthew as it moves up the coast. Central Office Staff and non-school-based staff will report to work on Wednesday only.
Based on current information from the National Weather Service and the Chatham Emergency Management Agency, storm impacts could bring dangerous flooding, rain, heavy winds and power outages to our area. Governor Nathan Deal has placed our county under a State of Emergency. The cancellation includes all afterschool activities and athletic events scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. In addition, the meeting of the Savannah-Chatham County School Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday will be postponed to a later date.
All 6th grade parent teacher conferences scheduled for this week will be rescheduled for a later date.
