The Week of April 4, 2016

Welcome to the first full week of April, what what an action-packed week it will be!

As you know, we've finished the math section of our review booklet last week.  You will spend this week focusing on the science section of the book.  I feel we need some more practice with some of the trickier math concepts we've discussed this year, so you will complete the rest of the book independently for homework.  Follow this schedule as you work your way through the science questions.  I will give you a key Monday so you can check your work.

Monday:  Unit 1 & 2 (Rocks/Minerals & Weathering/Erosion)
Tuesday:  Unit 3 & 4 (Inside Our Earth & Water in Earth's Processes)
Wednesday:  Unit 5 & 6 (Climate/Weather & Universe/Solar System)
Thursday:  Unit 7 & 8 (Earth/Moon/Sun & Human Impact)

I have updated your class calendar to include these assignments.  Since the rest of the work will be done as homework, you do NOT need to bring your review booklet to school anymore.

Our time at school will be spent continuing to review our math studies.  Each of you will plan and present a randomly-chosen math lesson to your classmates!  Here is a copy of the rubric you will use to plan your lesson.  Your lesson will count as an assessment grade.

You will be taking the last administration of the MAP assessment Monday.  We can use the score you earn on this test to see how much progress you've made in your math studies this year.  Please come to school fully rested and ready to do your best.

Ms. Susan and myself will be sending home progress reports this week.  Please review, sign, and return them to your homeroom teacher.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Mr. Trent
