Geometric Solids that are Good Enough to Eat!
Today during our weekly mentoring time, my homeroom students helped our younger friends explore geometric solids! We used marshmallows as vertices and toothpicks as edges to create cubes, triangular prisms, and square-based pyramids. The 6th graders then calculated the surface area of the solids. This was a great learning opportunity for Ms. Kirsten's class as well as a good review for our upcoming quiz on surface area.
