The Ships of the Sea Museum North Garden Makeover!

The Ships of the Sea Museum North Garden

As part of our greatest common factor lesson, students redesigned the North Garden of the Ships of the Sea Museum!  We took on the role of a landscape architect and discovered many other ways that the 24 pear trees in the garden could be planted in a square or rectangle matrix.  When we were done, we realized that our work lead us to a list of all the factors of 24!  I think we may have a few future landscapers in our classroom!

Finding the factors of 24 using the Montessori peg board material.

UPDATE 8.26.14- The Ships of the Sea Museum saw your work and gave you a shout-out on their Facebook page!  Check it out here!
