The Week of March 3, 2014

Spring break is almost here!  We have so much to do before we get to relax next week...let's hit the ground running Monday morning!

In math we will finish up our work with statistics by making box plots.  Some people call them "box and whisker" plots because of how they look.

We will be working with the data we collected with Mr. Vinay on Friday to create box plots!  Check out this video of you repressing cilia, algae, and the predators that prey on them.

You will have homework Monday and Tuesday evening as well as a Compass Learning requirement to complete.  This work will get you ready for a quiz on box plots on Thursday.  This is your last quiz of the term in math, so be sure you are prepared to get the highest grade you can.

In science, we will be finishing up our work with the astronomers we've been studying.  Please compete your "Planetary Pathways" choice sheet by Friday.  In addition, be sure to use your study guide to prepare for Friday's test on the astronomers.

Please keep the following items in mind as you go through your week:

1.  In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, feel free to wear your favorite hat to school on Monday!
2.  This Friday is the last day of the term.  All work is due Thursday to give Ms. Carol and myself time to gather any remaining items Friday.  No work from the 2nd term will be collected after spring break.  Please log on to the PowerSchool Parent Access Program to see if you owe any work.
3.  Friday is a dress-down day for $1.00.  All donations will go towards the "Kiss A Pig" campaign for the American Diabetes Association.

Enjoy your weekend,
Mr. Trent
