We only have school Monday and Tuesday this week. I'm sure you are excited for our field trip to the President Street Water Treatment Facility on Tuesday! On Monday, we will take some time to talk about how waste water is cleaned and returned to the environment. Check out this podcast from the Radiolab program on NPR that tells of the process of water treatment and uses of the sludge produced during treatment:
"Poop Train" - From Radiolab on NPR (contains a word some may find offensive)
On Tuesday, be sure to wear comfortable shoes because we will have our tour of the facility. After the tour, we will find our way to River Street to enjoy our lunch along the Savannah River. Pack an appropriate lunch (or purchase a bagged lunch from the cafeteria).
You have the option to dress down Monday and Tuesday. Just bring in $2.00 on Monday! All the money will be donated to the Relay for Life fundraiser.
I'll see you Monday morning,
